1. Scope and acceptance
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) apply when you access clipturn.app, use its materials, or use the ClipTurn application. ClipTurn is published by FixQuotes (“FixQuotes,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By using the website, you agree to these Terms. Your license to the Store app is addressed separately below.
If you do not agree with these Terms, do not use the website. Nothing in these Terms removes rights that cannot lawfully be excluded in your country or region.
2. Microsoft Store license
ClipTurn is free to acquire from Microsoft Store. Unless the Store listing expressly states otherwise, your use of the application is licensed under Microsoft’s Standard Application License Terms (SALT), set out in the Microsoft Store App Developer Agreement, as applicable in your market.
These website Terms do not replace the SALT. They govern this website and provide factual product notices; the SALT and mandatory law control if there is a conflict. Microsoft’s Store, acquisition, installation, licensing, and update services are also subject to Microsoft’s own terms.
3. Permitted and responsible use
You may use ClipTurn for lawful personal, educational, or business purposes as permitted by the Store license. You are responsible for your device, your files, and your use of the results.
You agree not to:
- use ClipTurn or this website unlawfully or to infringe another person’s rights;
- interfere with the website, the Store, or another user’s device or data;
- misrepresent ClipTurn, FixQuotes, or the origin of the application; or
- circumvent technical protections except where applicable law expressly permits it.
4. Your files and content
You keep all rights you have in your videos and other files. ClipTurn does not claim ownership of them and does not upload them to FixQuotes. You are responsible for having the permission needed to copy, modify, rotate, publish, or distribute the media you select.
If a file is managed by a workplace, school, cloud-sync provider, backup product, media library, or rights-management system, your agreements and policies for those services still apply.
5. File replacement, backups, and recovery
ClipTurn is designed to verify a candidate before committing it, but a successful rotation normally replaces the selected file in place. Before using ClipTurn on irreplaceable media, keep an independent backup on separate storage.
- File Explorer: a successful rotation keeps no persistent backup and cannot be undone through ClipTurn.
- In-app workflow: keeping a backup is optional and off by default. A requested backup remains in your files until you remove it.
- During commit: ClipTurn uses local staging and rollback material. It normally removes that material after completion, but may preserve recovery artifacts when automatic cleanup cannot safely finish.
- Refusal or failure: when ClipTurn cannot produce and prove a safe result before commit, it is designed to leave the source unchanged and report a reason.
6. Technical limitations
A supported filename extension does not guarantee that every file with that extension can be rotated. Results depend on the file’s internal structure, codec, bit depth, metadata, stream layout, installed Windows codecs, hardware, drivers, available storage, and other device conditions.
- Supported containers are MP4, M4V, MOV, MKV, WebM, WMV, and supported uncompressed AVI.
- Only supported uncompressed packed-pixel AVI can be rotated sample-exactly.
- Compressed video is physically rotated through a visually lossless re-encode under the default policy. Repeated re-encoding can accumulate loss.
- The output can be larger because ClipTurn does not reduce quality merely to match the original byte size.
- Codec availability varies. VP9 may require Microsoft’s free VP9 Video Extensions; HEVC may require Microsoft’s separately offered HEVC extension; Windows N may require Media Feature Pack; some 10-bit paths depend on hardware and drivers.
- ClipTurn may refuse a file when it cannot preserve or verify a required property safely.
7. Third-party components and services
ClipTurn uses Windows media facilities, installed codecs, and third-party software components. Applicable open-source and redistributable notices are included with the app package. Those components remain subject to their own license notices.
Microsoft Store, Windows, codec extensions, support pages, sync providers, and other linked services are operated by third parties and are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. A paid codec, if needed for your media, is separate from the free ClipTurn app.
8. Availability, updates, and support
We may correct, update, add, remove, or discontinue application or website features. Microsoft controls Store availability and delivery. Device changes, Windows updates, codec changes, and driver updates can affect functionality. We do not promise that every feature, format, or support channel will remain available indefinitely.
ClipTurn version information is published on the changelog page. Support is offered on a reasonable-efforts basis through the contact channel below.
9. Warranty, disclaimers, and liability
The warranties and remedies that apply to the application are those provided by the Microsoft Store license and mandatory law. To the fullest extent permitted by those rules, the website and its informational materials are provided “as available” without a promise that they are uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for every file or purpose.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, FixQuotes is not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss arising from use of the website or application. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including mandatory consumer remedies. If the SALT gives you greater protection, the SALT controls.
10. Changes and governing rules
We may update these Terms by posting a revised version and changing the effective date. Changes apply prospectively. Your app license, governing law, dispute rules, and mandatory rights are determined by the Microsoft Store license and the law that applies to you; this page does not choose a different forum or remove mandatory local protections.
